Ah, Hell; I missed it

The Day of Mass Resistance

I always seem to be a few hours behind the times on these things; it was the same way with high school parties...

Palm Springs, CA

2006-10-05

12 noon (voter registration drive throughout the day and month)
Palm Springs at Tahquitz and Palm Canyon (at the Library across from Starbucks)
For those who can take Thursday, October 5th off from work, or school, for the WorldCantWait.org effort, we want to use it productively. There will be a Rally in Palm Springs at Tahquitz and Palm Canyon at the library (across from Starbucks) at 12pm (Noon). We will be registering new voters throughout the day, who do not support Bush and other reactionary Republicans. In light of the HORRIFIC bills going through the Senate and Congress over the last few days, we need to do EVERYTHING we can from now till election day. We MUST change Congress.

Locally we can be part of change, by NOT sending Mary Bono back to Congress. She has ignore us, time and time again, on various issues that truly matter. Most specifically, when we've called for her to work to end the quagmire in Iraq or speak out against the use of Torture, we don't even get the decency of a response.

Get involved to unseat Mary Bono, help register new voters. The course Mary Bono wants to stay is continued failed policies. Let's turn this around !! We deserve a "Representative" not indifference.

Also, on Saturday, October 7th from 11am to 4pm the Veterans for Peace from San Diego, will bring their Arlington West display (see ArlingtonWestFilm.com) honoring fallen U.S. soldiers and countless innocent Iraqi citizens killed in the Iraq war, to the Coachella Valley. Note: People are needed to help setup (at 7am) and takedown (at 4pm) the display. Please call (760) 325-5112 to offer assistance. The event will be in Palm Springs at Pavilion Field, off Baristo near Sunrise (down the road from the Main Library), Free and open to the public.
