Oh for the Delicate Ironies of the P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act Acronym

No; we get no irony whatsoever from the L. O. S. T.

Just the stark, naked thrust of "LOST," rather like "The Final Solution," or "New World Order."

Back in the 1970s the United Nations launched its plan for a global program of taxation without representation, called the “New International Economic Order.” The goal of this new economic order was not so new at all, however. It sought the involuntary transfer of wealth and technology from the developed world to the third world under the direction of the United Nations. A cornerstone of this dangerous attempt to loot the prosperous nations was the “Law of the Sea Treaty” (LOST).

Under the Law of the Sea Treaty, an “International Seabed Authority” would control the minerals and other resources of the oceans’ seabed. After taking its own cut, this UN body would transfer whatever is left to select third-world governments and non-governmental organizations.

The Law of the Sea Treaty also would give the UN power to tax American citizens and businesses, which has been a long-time dream of the anti-sovereignty globalists. LOST also would establish an international court system to enforce its provisions and rulings.

Look at me; I'm agreeing with Ron Paul, for gosh' sake. And John McCain, and Fred Thompson, and Mike Huckabee. And— The Islamic Free Market Institute?! Whoa, dude.

Anyhoo. The U. S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted to sign aboard, 17-4. I liked to think that Senators know more about international politics than I do, or that they are somehow smarter, but that was many years ago. I know now that they are, at best, like most folk, C+ students, but — unlike most folk — so invested with power that they begin to believe that they are somehow smarter than they actually are, or more untouchable.

Recent example: Sen. Larry Craig. Lifetime Achievement Award: Ted Kennedy.

Last one out of the free and sovereign nations turn out the lights... this will probably fall to Australia or New Zealand. Any one want to bet?
