A Wry Mouth "Never Forget": Mister Fred Rogers

Here he is, before a Senate subcommittee of the usual burnt-out types: "Awright, Rogers; you got da floah."

Wouldn't it be sad if PBS ever discontinued Fred Rogers' show entirely? It is — due probably to design — a timeless little pocket of kindness for children.

Notice how, by the middle of the clip, Senator John Pastore is eating out of Rogers' hand, and not in a bad way. It is just the way Rogers lived his life.

Aw, he rocks! I wish I could see the show. We get all the "animated bombardment" he describes, but nary a peek into Mr Roger's Neighbourhood. Sigh. I wanna see it. Boo hoo! Hope he wins out, and gets to keep his scheduled spots.
