UPDATE, SEPTEMBER 30th: Nevermind the b***ocks; here, the Dow jumped back up 485 points today. Wheeee!! A nice math exercise: calculate the percent *rise* today, to compare with yesterday's percent *drop*.

Local price dropped to $3.499...
Stock market drops 777 pts. ; gas futures drop $10 in one session.
Boy. The economy is wobbly right now. I have faith in the system to right itself, but I worry sometimes whether there might be too many out there with too little faith.
If too many people start fiddling with the system too quickly, well — usually, in a driving emergency, it isn't helpful if everyone grabs the steering wheel and starts yanking.

I read that gas futures rose because of a weak dollar. And that a large contributing factor to Britain's woes was an unprecedented strengthening of the dollar against the pound yesterday.
A strong dollar drives down oil futures, it takes less of them to purchase the same amount.
Is a strong dollar bad for our economy? Is the sky REALLY falling?
