BOLD FOREIGN POLICY FROM THE YOUNG ONE

In outlining our approach to Darfur, he says that we will rely on African Continental Army or National Congress or League of Old Elders or whatever they are to maintain order and the peace (no, really - those stallwart defenders of the innocents).

See, Obamasan can't invoke the UN - no legitimacy among Americans there.   He can't promise to send our troops in, not after our experience in Somalia coupled with his own constant complaining of Bush spreading our armies too thin.  But he can't say he'll turn a blind eye like we did with Rwanda, so he tries to strongly assert our peace-keeping presence and superiority by declaring:  "We can establish a no-fly zone."

Yeah, a no-fly zone.  It worked well, in Iraq in the 90s...  and of course we all KNOW that that damn Sudanese Air Force offers an umbrella of saftey for the rogues, murderers and rapists rampant there.   Just like J Lovitz:  "Yeah, a NO-FLY zone....   that's the ticket!"

<sigh>  a no-fly zone for Darfur.

That'll work.

My wife sez that he should pledge a naval blockade of Switzerland next...  Okay, I looked up the SAF and found that they maintain an unsubstantiated inventory of about 200 planes, about a third of which are tactical fighters although 6 (SIX!!!) of them are "gunships."  There is a problem keeping their planes flying, but recently Lybia and Iran have offered some Chinese planes to help them out.  The Overhaul and Repair of these assests could be problematic because they fly alongside Russian, French and British planes of varying vintages from the last five decades, and they don't have enough of any one item to earn bulk-rate discounts on spare parts.    Perfect place for a squadron or two of the premier fighting force on the planet... A la Steve Martin:  "GOOD plan..."

It's the g-damned Democratic Party that's responsible for this mess.  They had (and still have) a PERFECTLY GOOD senior statesperson READY to not only win, but offer strong, seasoned, reasonable and respected leadership in the eyes of the world... and you MORONS instead put up a guy who wants to establish a NO-FLY ZONE in a place where there are INSIGNIFICANT warplanes, IF ANY!

for cryin out loud - HE OFFERS NO SUBSTANCE EVEN WHEN HE'S TALKING OUT HIS ASS!!!  He is so out of it that he can't even make up an effective strategy in the fantasy land that campaign promises and off-the-cuff answers allow you to inhabit.

On the plus side, I hear that he ensures us that, Under His Leadership, he can GUARANTEE that the SUN.  Will Rise...  in the East  Each And Every Day!!!! <wild applause, networks predict double digit landslide victory, claim McCain didn't win debate>  WE CAN'T AFFORD SUNRISES LIKE WE'VE HAD FOR THE LAST EIGHT YEARS!!!   WE NEED CHANGE!!!

I'm at wits end.  No wonder we haven't heard from Cogit.

Go check out the PUMA website.  There are some pretty pissed off Democrats right now that no media admit exist.  We can only hope....

sounds great - as an educator, thanks for the nod, Big Guy!...

Waitaminnit - he attended grade school in the Phillipines. So are we going to adopt the Phillipine system of education so AMERICAN kids can get access to "the finest education in the world." ?

If not, he attended private school in Hawaii. Gotta make the NEA feel tingly all over: if we want Americans to have access to the "finest education in the world" we better get to work on that voucher program...
