The self-important CBS radio news anchor just said that new housing starts are "way worse" than they have been in years...

Am I unfairly picky when I would rather a news anchor said, "much worse?"

Sigh.

As a sidenote, the self-important tone of radio news anchors (my current favorite is Doug Limerick, ABC news) always reminds me of Ted Knight's "Ted Baxter" character from the Mary Tyler Moore Show.

Tragically, current anchors don't seem to understand at all that Ted Baxter was an ironically self-important blowhard, and not a role model.

Makes me smile, every time.
