Election Aftermath 08: The Electorate’s Driving Lesson #01
The Electorate has gotten together, November 4th, to illustrate a lesson all new drivers of automobiles would do well to remember:
You are the driver of a Ford Econoline van, overloaded with bad paper. This particular van has been driven hard for over a decade and now the alignment is out and it has a tendency to pull to the right a little, which causes a noticeable "shimmy" in the front end when one drives it at freeway speeds. One day, as you are cruising down an open freeway at excessive speed, the front right-hand wheel suddenly blows out, yanking the steering-wheel to the right, and sending the Econoline careening forward and sharply to the right.
What would you do?
(a) Step on the gas and pull the steering-wheel sharply to the extreme right.
(b) Step on the gas and pull the steering-wheel sharply to the extreme left.
(c) Step on the brakes gradually while pulling the wheel back toward the centered position.
(d) Step hard on the brakes, let go of the wheel and brace for impact.
