Finally! A bona-fide emergency drill today at school, in cooperation with about 85% of CA schools: the Great Shake-Up!

Not that I care about the name, but I finally got a chance (as Team 1 sweeper for going through buildings) to practice sweeping two pre-school buildings for casualties.

I've been agitating for something like this for years.

My advice: if you're sweeping a small building, use the "right-hand" or "left-hand" rule as you go through. I found it works well, especially with a craggy, pigeon-holed building like a preschool.

At least I feel more prepared than I was.
