I apologize to all; while I wasn't paying attention someone went and managed to secularize Thanksgiving. By the time I awoke, it was too late, and my favorite "holy day" of the US calendar had been adulterated with materialism. I didn't even mind the football so much.

But the point of the post is this: what does it say about a nation, when its citizens are far more eager to go shopping than to church?
