Sunday Wry Mouth Science: A Hypothesis on Secular Societies
Is it peculiar to the West, or is it a characteristic of developed nations in general? :
A person, or group of persons, once having rejected the possibility of a Living G-d, will consequently reject at some future time the possibility of Natural Law, as applied to societies.
This puts the person or persons in the unenviable position of having neither theological nor materialistic means to support their societal laws, leaving them open to rule by the most assertive elements — those people willing to use emotional rhetoric, or bullying, to impose their laws as the "correct" ones.
