No pix of the snowy mountains yet, although soon. Meanwhile, I passed this sight tonight. I am getting in the habit of carrying my "flip" video camera whenever I remember to, which is becoming more frequent than when I forget to:




That's an old Volkswagen Beetle body, mounted about 12 feet up on eight cast-iron legs, painted black with an hourglass on the underbelly: the giant "Spider Beetle" of the desert. Here, it's been decorated with red, green and white lights for the Christmas season.

Look for the Spider Beetle at the corner of Interstate 10 and Indian Canyon Avenue!
