Nature or Nurture?
So the resident sixteen year old and I are talking in the car, when the subject of hysterical liberal social studies teachers comes up. His introduction, not mine.
He tells me his Social Science teachers was earnestly warning his sophomore class about the dangers of man-bear-pig. A succinct reference to a pretty funny South Park take on Mr Gore and his crusade.
So I tell him that it would be funny if someone in the class defended him during his next Save the Planet from Global Warming Warning by saying, "Come on guys, he's totally serial!" (a catch phrase from said South Park episode)... of course I warned him that it would be best if he influenced someone *else* to commit academic hari kari with such a comment - seeing as how tolerant liberals are of dissenting opinion, especially when they have a chance to directly ruin a GPA and a future.
His objection? [spoken plaintively] "But then someone else would get the laugh!"

Any time I think the acorn has rolled too far from the tree, something like this happens...
[sniff !]
