Federal "Stimulus" Bill: Putting 800 Billion Dollars Into Perspective
We've seen the reports of the Federal Gubmint and This Administration trying to hurry up and pass a "hail Mary" stimulus package of spending, somewhere in the 800-1,000 billion dollar range.
But what, exactly, is 800 billion dollars? This is a concept that is difficult for the average citizen (like a congressperson, for example) to grasp.
Here's a little analogy to help you out.
If every dollar were one mile long, and you had 800 billion of them, and you laid them all out end-to-end, YOU WOULD HAVE A LINE OF DOLLARS THAT WAS 800 BILLION MILES LONG.
I hope that helps.

A good idea would be to take a GOOD look at the bill. At least that would be two of us that did such a thing - Congress certainly, by their own admission didn't do that.
