Why is everybody bitching about the stimulas package cost? The war is, as we speak, costing us 596 trillion dollars. Obama wants to bring our troops home and spend that money here at home, for once. No one wants war; no sane person, anyways. I am assuming the $596 trillion is total? and not per-month? Did you mean trillion or billion? I'm confused.
FYI, Mr. Bush wanted to bring our troops home, too. As would Clinton before him, and Bush before him, and etc. I'm fairly confident that our presidents don't sit up late at night thinking up ways to kill people. I don't think it's productive to think that they are that monstrous.
And, while I would be happy, to a certain degree, to see " an American President spending money on the American people," I would be happier still if I saw an American President leading the charge to let the American people keep their own money, and spend it freely as they and their consciences saw fit.
Plus, you should be cautious about making such statements -- some people might accuse you of thinking Americans are somehow entitled to have their own taxes spent on themselves instead of the entire world population... and then, where would you be?
Thank you for adding depth to our blog. You are always welcome. I know my peer Cogito Ergo Dem would approve! :o/
