Mr. Obama, Bowling, the Special Olympics and Mr. Bush
Uh, oh. President Obama appeared on the Tonight Show and made a gaffe.
Actually, I think the error here was appearing on the Tonight Show as a sitting president. But that's just me and my bias against turning politicians into late-night entertainment.
Most think the error Mr. Obama made was in comparing his bowling game (which, in an astonishing coincidence, is a near-twin of my own) to "the Special Olympics."
(a) Mr. President, I for one am proud of my 127 average; I'll thank you not to sully it with your aspersions.
(b) to every one looking for an excuse to take offense: now you have one. Big deal. Lighten up. You people are like Al Sharpton, without the natty suit. If you are demanding apologies and reparations, shame on you. You Mongoloids.
(c) best response: the bowler who challenged Mr. Obama to a match . I hope he gets his wish. That'd be cool!
(d) Finally, I keep trying to picture Mr. Bush making an off-hand remark along the lines of "it was like the Special Olympics there," and I can't do it. I don't know what that says about Mr. Bush, or me, but there it is.

I thought Mr. Sharpton would be wearing "a nappy suit".
