I glean two major thrusts from the New Atheist theories on religion and the god delusion:

(a) the religious impulse & belief in gods are a by-product of natural adaptation over some hundreds of thousands of years, and

(b) Science is going to eliminate religion in civilized man after a few decades of clever rejoinders and quips.

Even if they are right, they are wrong.
